(131) And indeed it has been revealed to you (O muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), as it was to those (Allah's messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers."

(132) Verily those who dispute about the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, without any authority having come to them, there is nothing else in their breasts except pride [to accept you (muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as a messenger of Allah and to obey you] . They will never have it (i.e. Prophethood which Allah has bestowed upon you). So seek refuge in Allah (O muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم from the arrogants). Verily, it is He Who is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.

(133) And, indeed We have sent messengers before you (O muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): of some of them We have related to you their story. And of some We have not related to you their story, and it was not given to any messenger that he should bring a sign except by the Leave of Allah. But, when comes the Commandment of Allah, the matter will be decided with truth, and the followers of falsehood will then be lost.

(134) Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah, and in His messenger muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise).

(135) Nothing is said to you (O muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) except what was said to the messengers before you. Verily, your Lord is the Possessor of Forgiveness, and (also) the Possessor of Painful Punishment.

(136) And thus We have revealed to you (O muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) a Qur'an in Arabic that you may warn the Mother of the Towns (Makkah) and all around it, and warn (them) of the Day of Assembling of which there is no doubt: when a party will be in Paradise (those who believed in Allah and followed what Allah's messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم brought them) and a party in the blazing Fire (Hell) (those who disbelieved in Allah and followed not what Allah's messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم brought them).

(137) And those who dispute (polytheists with Our messenger muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment) [Tafsir At-Tabari].

(138) Nay, but I gave (the good things of this life) to these (polytheists) and their fathers to enjoy, till there came to them the truth (the Qur'an), and a messenger (muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) making things clear.

(139) And ask (O muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) those of Our messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint alihah (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Gracious (Allah)?"

(140) Then they had turned away from him (messenger muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) and said: (He is) one taught (by a human being), a madman!"
