(81) As for those who strive in Us, We surely guide them to Our paths, and lo! Allah is with the good.

(82) Have they not travelled in the land and seen the nature of the consequence for those who were before them? They were stronger than these in power, and they dug the earth and built upon it more than these have built. Messengers of their own came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). Surely Allah wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves.

(83) There were the believers sorely tried, and shaken with a mighty shock.

(84) Those who disbelieve say: The Hour will never come unto us. Say: Nay, by my Lord, but it is coming unto you surely. (He is) the Knower of the Unseen. Not an atom's weight, or less than that or greater, escapeth Him in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a clear Record,

(85) Have they not observed what is before them and what is behind them of the sky and the earth? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause obliteration from the sky to fall on them. Lo! herein surely is a portent for every slave who turneth (to Allah) repentant.

(86) (The people of the city) said: We augur ill of you. If ye desist not, we shall surely stone you, and grievous torture will befall you at our hands.

(87) Lo! thy Lord is surely One;

(88) And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell.

(89) But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom)

(90) He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one,
