(271) And if We please We would have made you know them so that you would certainly have recognized them by their marks and most certainly you can recognize them by the intent of (their) speech; and Allah knows your deeds.

(272) Those of the dwellers of the desert who were left behind will say to you: Our property and our families kept us busy, so ask forgiveness for us. They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: Then who can control anything for you from Allah if He intends to do you harm or if He intends to do you good; nay, Allah is Aware of what you do:

(273) Allah promised you many acquisitions which you will take, then He hastened on this one for you and held back the hands of men from you, and that it may be a sign for the believers and that He may guide you on a right path.

(274) A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising.

(275) And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening.

(276) He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand:

(277) Who fears the Beneficent Allah in secret and comes with a penitent heart:

(278) And listen on the day when the crier shall cry from a near place

(279) What you are threatened with is most surely true,

(280) Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on.
