(35) He said: "We will certainly strengthen thy arm through thy brother, and invest you both with authority, so they shall not be able to touch you: with Our Sign shall ye triumph,- you two as well as those who follow you."

(36) Or have We sent down authority to them, which points out to them the things to which they pay part-worship?

(37) It is Allah Who has created the heavens and the earth, and all between them, in six Days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of authority): ye have none, besides Him, to protect or intercede (for you): will ye not then receive admonition?

(38) But he had no authority over them,- except that We might test the man who believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt concerning it: and thy Lord doth watch over all things.

(39) They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!"

(40) "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion!
