(31) And We have enjoined upon man concerning his partners - His mother beareth him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years - Give thanks unto Me and unto thy parents. Unto Me is the journeying.

(32) He directeth the ordinance from the heaven unto the earth; then it ascendeth unto Him in a Day, whereof the measure is a thousand years of that ye reckon.

(33) And those who disbelieve are driven unto hell in troops till, when they reach it and the gates thereof are opened, and the warders thereof say unto them: Came there not unto you messengers of your own, reciting unto you the revelations of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this your Day? they say: yea, verily. But the word of doom of disbelievers is fulfilled.

(34) They say: Came not your messengers unto you with clear proofs? They say: yea, verily. They say: Then do ye pray, although the prayer of disbelievers is in vain.

(35) And We have commended unto man kindness toward parents. His mother beareth him with reluctance, and bringeth him forth with reluctance, and the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months, till, when he attaineth full strength and reacheth forty years, he saith: My Lord! Arouse me that I may give thanks for the favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and that I may do right acceptable unto Thee. And be gracious unto me in the matter of my seed. Lo! I have turned unto Thee repentant, and lo! I am of those who surrender (unto Thee).

(36) And on the day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (they will be asked): Is not this real? They will say: yea, by our Lord. He will say: Then taste the doom for that ye disbelieved.

(37) The folk of Noah denied before them, yea, they denied Our slave and said: A madman; and he was repulsed.

(38) They will cry unto them (saying): Were we not with you? They will say: yea, verily; but ye tempted one another, and hesitated, and doubted, and vain desires beguiled you till the ordinance of Allah came to pass; and the deceiver deceived you concerning Allah;

(39) Those who disbelieve assert that they will not be raised again. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): yea, verily, by my Lord! ye will be raised again and then ye will be informed of what ye did; and that is easy for Allah.

(40) They say: yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error.
