(37) Nay, the wrong-doers (merely) follow their own lusts, being devoid of knowledge. But who will guide those whom Allah leaves astray? To them there will be no helpers.

(38) Say: "If I am astray, I only stray to the loss of my own soul: but if I receive guidance, it is because of the inspiration of my Lord to me: it is He Who hears all things, and is (ever) near."

(39) "But he did lead astray a great multitude of you. Did ye not, then, understand?

(40) "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray."
