(1641) The dwellers of the desert say: We believe. Say: You do not believe but say, We submit; and faith has not yet entered into your hearts; and if you obey Allah and His Apostle, He will not diminish aught of your deeds; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

(1642) The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Apostle then they doubt not and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah; they are the truthful ones.

(1643) They think that they lay you under an obligation by becoming Muslims. Say: Lay me not under obligation by your Islam: rather Allah lays you under an obligation by guiding you to the faith if you are truthful.

(1644) Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps?

(1645) And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another,

(1646) He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand.

(1647) Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement.

(1648) His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error.

(1649) He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand:

(1650) My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants.
