(301) It is most hateful to Allah that you should say that which you do not do.
(302) And spend out of what We have given you before death comes to one of you, so that he should say: My Lord! why didst Thou not respite me to a near term, so that I should have given alms and been of the doers of good deeds?
(303) O Prophet! when you divorce women, divorce them for~ their prescribed time, and calculate the number of the days prescribed, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, your Lord. Do not drive them out of their houses, nor should they themselves go forth, unless they commit an open indecency; and these are the limits of Allah, and whoever goes beyond the limits of Allah, he indeed does injustice to his own soul. You do not know that Allah may after that bring about reunion.
(304) And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire.
(305) Are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not make the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it shall be in a state of commotion.
(306) Or are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not send down upon you a punishment? Then shall you know how was My warning.
(307) Or who is it that will give you sustenance if He should withhold His sustenance? Nay! they persist in disdain and aversion.
(308) Say: Have you considered if Allah should destroy me and those with me-- rather He will have mercy on us; yet who will protect the unbelievers from a painful punishment?
(309) Say: Have you considered if your water should go down, who is it then that will bring you flowing water?
(310) They wish that you should be pliant so they (too) would be pliant.
