Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. (44) Know, therefore, that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for thy fault, and for the men and women who believe: for Allah knows how ye move about and how ye dwell in your homes.

(45) therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed.

(46) therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world.

(47) Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers' wombs. therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil.

(48) therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair,

(49) They have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus they obstruct (men) from the Path of Allah: therefore shall they have a humiliating Penalty.

(50) That is because they believed, then they rejected Faith: So a seal was set on their hearts: therefore they understand not.
