(32) And the idolaters say: Had Allah willed, we had not worshipped aught beside Him, we and our fathers, nor had we forbidden aught without (command from) Him. Even so did those before them. Are the messengers charged with aught save plain conveyance (of the message)?

(33) Lo! Abraham was a nation obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the idolaters;

(34) And afterward We inspired thee (Muhammad, saying): Follow the religion of Abraham, as one by nature upright. He was not of the idolaters.

(35) Now there hath succeeded them a later generation whom have ruined worship and have followed lusts. But they will meet deception.

(36) Lo! ye (idolaters) and that which ye worship beside Allah are fuel of hell. Thereunto ye will come.

(37) Lo! those who believe (this revelation), and those who are Jews, and the Sabaeans and the Christians and the Magians and the idolaters - Lo! Allah will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! Allah is Witness over all things.

(38) The adulterer shall not marry save an adulteress or an idolatress, and the adulteress none shall marry save an adulterer or an idolater. All that is forbidden unto believers.

(39) And give unto me a good report in later generations.

(40) Say (O Muhammad): Travel in the land and see how He originated creation, then Allah bringeth forth the later growth. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.
