(202) It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them, and to instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom,- although they had been, before, in manifest error;-

(203) and spend something (in charity) out of the substance which We have bestowed on you, before Death should come to any of you and he should say, "O my Lord! why didst Thou not give me respite for a little while? I should then have given (largely) in charity, and I should have been one of the doers of good".

(204) So the (garden) became, by the morning, like a dark and desolate spot, (whose fruit had been gathered).

(205) They said: "Glory to our Lord! Verily we have been doing wrong!"

(206) Their eyes will be cast down,- ignominy will cover them; seeing that they had been summoned aforetime to bow in adoration, while they were whole, (and had refused).

(207) Had not Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been cast off on the naked shore, in disgrace.

(208) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!

(209) And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!

(210) "Of no profit to me has been my wealth!
