(1) He it is Who did create you from a single soul, and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her. (2) And those who earn ill-deeds, (for them) requital of each ill-deed by the like thereof; and ignominy overtaketh them - They have no protector from Allah - as if their faces had been covered with a cloak of darkest night. Such are rightful owners of the Fire; they will abide therein.

(3) And when they opened their belongings they discovered that their merchandise had been returned to them. They said: O our father! What (more) can we ask? Here is our merchandise returned to us. We shall get provision for our folk and guard our brother, and we shall have the extra measure of a camel (load). This (that we bring now) is a light measure.

(4) Then Pharaoh followed them with his hosts and there covered them that which did cover them of the sea.

(5) And We have set a bar before them and a bar behind them, and (thus) have covered them so that they see not.

(6) So that there covered them that which did cover.

(7) Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord.
