(1) [Remember] when you [fled and] climbed [the mountain] without looking aside at anyone while the Messenger was calling you from behind. So Allah repaid you with distress upon distress so you would not grieve for that which had escaped you [of victory and spoils of war] or [for] that which had befallen you [of injury and death]. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do.

(2) And say, "The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve." Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a fire whose walls will surround them. And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like murky oil, which scalds [their] faces. Wretched is the drink, and evil is the resting place.

(3) To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil.

(4) And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat.

(5) Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.

(6) In boiling water; then in the Fire they will be filled [with flame].

(7) Like murky oil, it boils within bellies

(8) Like the boiling of scalding water.

(9) And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil -

(10) When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.
