(1) [Remember] when you were on the near side of the valley, and they were on the farther side, and the caravan was lower [in position] than you. If you had made an appointment [to meet], you would have missed the appointment. But [it was] so that Allah might accomplish a matter already destined - that those who perished [through disbelief] would perish upon evidence and those who lived [in faith] would live upon evidence; and indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

(2) And [remember] when He showed them to you, when you met, as few in your eyes, and He made you [appear] as few in their eyes so that Allah might accomplish a matter already destined. And to Allah are [all] matters returned.

(3) As for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling.

(4) And as for those who were [destined to be] prosperous, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will - a bestowal uninterrupted.

(5) So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.

(6) And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.

(7) From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him;

(8) And who destined and [then] guided
