(54) If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one,

(55) But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them;

(56) And who is in greater error than he who calls besides Allah upon those that will not answer him till the day of resurrection and they are heedless of their call?

(57) Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror):

(58) So he was the measure of two bows or closer still.

(59) They will cry out to them: Were we not with you? They shall say: Yea! but you caused yourselves to fall into temptation, and you waited and doubted, and vain desires deceived you till the threatened punishment of Allah came, while the archdeceiver deceived you about Allah.

(60) till death overtook us.
