They wish to change Allah's decree: Say: "Not thus will ye follow us: Allah has already declared (this) beforehand": then they will say, "But ye are jealous of us." Nay, but little do they understand (such things).

(43) (Such has been) the practice (approved) of Allah already in the past: no change wilt thou find in the practice (approved) of Allah.

(44) We already know how much of them the earth takes away: With Us is a record guarding (the full account).

(45) Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it).

(46) And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!"

(47) He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning.

(48) These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!

(49) There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them),

(50) And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises?
