Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my offspring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will)."

(405) And the Dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba'. Everyone of them denied (their) Messengers, so my Threat took effect.

(406) We know best what they say. And you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) are not the one to force them (to Belief). But warn by the Qur'an; him who fears my Threat.

(407) I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for my creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or my creatures).

(408) Then how (terrible) was my Torment and my Warnings?

(409) 'Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hud); then how (terrible) was my Torment and my Warnings?

(410) Then, how (terrible) was my Torment and my Warnings?
