(1) But if you do not bring him to me, you shall have no measure (of corn) from me, nor shall you come near me.

This is our property returned to us, and we will bring corn for our family and guard our brother, and will have in addition the measure of a camel (load); this is an easy measure.

(3) And in the earth there are tracts side by side and gardens of grapes and corn and palm trees having one root and (others) having distinct roots-- they are watered with one water, and We make some of them excel others in fruit; most surely there are signs in this for a people who understand.

(4) And set forth to them a parable of two men; for one of them We made two gardens of grape vines, and We surrounded them both with palms, and in the midst of them We made cornfields.

(5) And cornfields and palm-trees having fine spadices?

(6) Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them?

(7) Lest a soul should say: O woe to me! for what I fell short of my duty to Allah, and most surely I was of those who laughed to scorn;

(8) And cornfields and noble places!

(9) That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs,
