(32) And if Allah were to punish men for that which they earned, He would not leave a moving (living) creature on the surface of the earth; but He gives them respite to an appointed term: and when their term comes, then verily, Allah is Ever All-Seer of His slaves.

(33) [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected."

(34) (Allah) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite."

(35) And the heavens and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given a respite.

(36) And spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you before death comes to one of you, and he says: "My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while (i.e. return to the worldly life), then I should give Sadaqah (i.e. Zakat ) of my wealth, and be among the righteous [i.e. perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) and other good deeds].

(37) And Allah grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

(38) So the (garden) became black by the morning, like a pitch dark night (in complete ruins).

(39) And I will grant them a respite. Verily, My Plan is strong.

(40) "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew."
