(232) The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy.

(233) O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it to insult one's brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as: "O sinner", or "O wicked"]. (234) And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge).

(235) And how many a generation We have destroyed before them who were stronger in power than they. And (when Our Torment came), they ran for a refuge in the land! Could they find any place of refuge (for them to save themselves from destruction)?

(236) Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him)

(237) As a Favour from Us. Thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us).

(238) Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lut (Lot), Salih, and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) who were destroyed)? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures?

(239) Is there any reward for good other than good?

(240) If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable): why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)?
