(37) But to no soul will Allah grant respite when the time appointed (for it) has come; and Allah is well acquainted with (all) that ye do.

(38) A (long) respite will I grant them: truly powerful is My Plan.

(39) "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew."

(40) Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile).
