(3) And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. Allah named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.

(4) And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples.

(5) And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muhammad], any warner.

(6) Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses

(7) And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into [her garment] through Our angel, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient.

(8) Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.

(9) Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

(10) The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
