(71) And had We willed We could have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth.

(72) Then how (will it be with them) when the angels gather them, smiting their faces and their backs!

(74) Lo! it is those who disbelieve in the Hereafter who name the angels with the names of females.

(75) If ye twain turn unto Allah repentant, (ye have cause to do so) for your hearts desired (the ban); and if ye aid one another against him (Muhammad) then lo! Allah, even He, is his Protecting Friend, and Gabriel and the righteous among the believers; and furthermore the angels are his helpers.

(76) O ye who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire whereof the fuel is men and stones, over which are set angels strong, severe, who resist not Allah in that which He commandeth them, but do that which they are commanded.

(77) And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them.

(78) (Whereby) the angels and the Spirit ascend unto Him in a Day whereof the span is fifty thousand years.

(79) We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals.

(80) On the day when the angels and the Spirit stand arrayed, they speak not, saving him whom the Beneficent alloweth and who speaketh right.
